Coco Soboo Moto
Celebrated media personality Collin Dominic Kariuki Ngori better known as Coco Soboo Moto or JahSeed was born in Lesotho, South Africa to a family of four back in 1979 December 13th. JahSeed is a true Rastafarian baptized by a Bobo Shanti priest in Shashamene Ethiopia in 2006.

Coco who currently hosts ‘One Love’ the hottest reggae show in Kenya airing on Citizen TV Kenya alongside the beautiful Tallia Oyando was for 19 years a heroine addict. His drug habit kicking in during his studies in South Africa back in 1996 when he was only 15yrs after being introduced to the substance at a very tender age of 14 in Kenya.
Due to the nature of his parents’ work, Coco soon moved to Australia for university. During his stay there, things didn’t get any better for him, missing lots of classes leading him to quit and go back home.
He came back into the country and became a raging drug addict to the point of blacking out on the streets & surviving 9 car accidents which prompted his parents to take him to rehabilitation centers in South Africa ,the United Kingdom & Kenya countless times. Sometimes paying up to KSH 500,000 for rehab admissions.
Having never worked a day in his life, his parents threatened to withdraw every form of financial support if he didn’t go back to rehab. This really scared the young lad and he decided to give rehab one last shot.
“They said they would withdraw everything. This scared me and I decided to give it another shot at rehab. At first, I just wanted to please my parents, but after a while, I also started to like the new me.”Coco Soboo Moto
Coco also attributes his tremendous success in the recovery journey to his now ex-girlfriend S.G who he dated for 9 years after which they broke up early 2019.
Being an animal person, Coco lucky to secure work as a ranger in the amazing Maasai Mara game reserve located in the Great Rift Valley where he worked for 3 years before his radio debut.

After working in the Mara, Coco landed a few radio gigs at KBC’S Metro radio and One FM which he wasn’t able to hold for long as he would sometimes relapse.
Even with all the struggles, the radio king was able to get back to his feet and is well known for his love for reggae and his radio & tv shows which include One Love on Citizen TV Kenya and his week long radio show at Hot 96 Kenya dubbed ‘The Take Off’ which is aimed at giving new artists a platform, new music reviews and artists interviews.
Coco Soboo Moto is also working with First Lady Margaret Kenyatta’s Pupils Rewards Scheme (PURES), which is a mentorship program aimed at motivating and instilling discipline in pupils.

Coco’s dream is to one day have enough power to teach the youth in extreme masses give them hope and guide them not to make the mistakes he made.
