Abel Mutua (KE) – Celebrity Facts
TV Star Abel Mutua born on August 28th 1986 is a screenwriter,actor, producer and the co-founder and owner of Phil-It Productions, a production company focused on creating local, Kenyan content.

He first caught national attention for his role as Freddie on Tahidi High, a high-school drama show which aires on Citizen TV Kenya. Abel graduated from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication in 2008 with a film production degree majoring in camera technique. Its during this time that he undertook an internship program at Citizen TV in 2007.
Later on the Protel Group under Sarah Migwi came up with a comic show concept and trusted Abel Mutua and Fred Omondi with it.
This came to be known as Hapa Kule News, a humorous show that depends on local trends and emerging issues for its content with aired on KTN TV.
Hapa Kule later gave birth to The Real housemaids of Kawangware – an award winning show that tells of the daily struggles of Kawangware housemaids.
It was later requested to be turned into a show bringing out stars like Njugush & Dj Shiti.104 episodes later Mutua stepped down in 2015 to start his own company which later came to be Phil-It Productions.

Abel Mutua has currently been working on local content such as Sue and Jonnie, Mother In Law, HullaBaloo Estate and AndaKava, a show recently premiered about two ridiculously incompetent Ex-Police Officers who decide to start a Private Investigation Agency after being fired from the police service. Their ultimate goal is to eventually join the FBI.
AndaKava brings Njugush back on screens after ditching The Real House helps Of Kawangware in 2017 citing changes in scripting and directing as the reason for his departure.
